To play Too Tight Rag, wonderful acoustic ragtime by Merle Travis I used my Gibson Es175 Charlie Christian and of course a good thumbpick. Merle made abundant use of the thumb of his left hand to press the sixth string. Regarding the right hand he had a technique based on using only two fingers, thumb and index.
